Hotter After Midnight

Dr. Emily Drake had a thriving counseling business. She was a human empath with the ability to sense Others which placed her in a unique position to counsel the various vampires, shifters, charmers, witches, etc. She was comfortable in her practice until Atlanta police officer Colin Gyth walked into her office asking for her help. Murders were being committed in Atlanta by an Other; only this Other was not like any anybody had ever seen. And the murders were brutal, bloody and very, very public. Colin’s captain knew of Dr. Drake and her work and thought she could help.
The first time Colin saw Dr. Drake, he felt like he’d been sucker-punched. When he looked into her eyes, he felt like he was looking into her soul. He didn’t have time for this and didn’t understand why his boss felt she was so important. But once he met her, something deep inside him knew he could never let her go. And she knew he was a shifter, but to what animal, she had no idea. He acted like one of the dangerous ones; a panther, a bear or even, a wolf, and that seemed to suit the good doctor just fine, considering she couldn’t keep her hands off of him either.
Cynthia Eden’s Hotter After Midnight is just that--hot. This book starts out sizzling and erupts in flames page after page. The animal chemistry between the hero and heroine will make your mouth (and other parts) water, while your cerebral mind is equally occupied trying to solve the murders. A page-turning erotic adventure that you won’t want to put down until the end.

Immortal Danger

Maya Black sucked at being a vampire. She hated the sight of blood and hated having to kill to feed. She had been a cop before she'd been attacked and bitten by a vamp and had been hunting vampires for years. Now, just because she was one of them, she saw no reason to stop hunting them. She'd rid the world of vampires, demons and any other evil Others that she could. Her custom bullets were made of silver and dipped in holy water and had the power to kill a variety of Others. She was known and feared in the Underworld--a vampire who hunts her own kind.
Adam Brody had watched Maya for days before he knew she was the one he needed. He was on a rescue mission and needed someone with Maya's particular set of skills and expertise. The vamps had kidnapped his niece, and he was desperately seeking someone who actually had a chance in hell in getting her and themselves out alive. But she had to be the strangest vampire he had ever seen. When she was forced to feed, she never drained her victims dry but only took enough to sustain her life, while leaving the victims intact. In his whole life, and his kind lived a very long time, he had never come across a vampire he thought was sexy, was healthy-looking and smelled like flowers instead of death.
Immortal Danger is a roller coaster ride of adventure throughout the entire book. Ms. Eden's vampire is not scary or gory. She is a vampire who does vampire things but manages to do it with compassion and finesse. The dialogue is witty, the heroine sharp and likeable, and the mystery surrounding the hero is a nice sub-plot that adds to the enjoyment of this fast read.
